Intrapreneurship vs Entrepreneurship

I’ve done few ventures in my past and I’m very familiar with hurdles and hardships that entrepreneurs face.  Intrapreneruship is somewthing I learned about in Grad school.  I always thought it was easier, in ways how it provided access to financial capital-one of the main hurdles for entrepreneurs.

How Intrapreneurship is different.

Now, however, I no longer think Intrapreneurship is easier.  I think it is different.  I believe it has a lot to do with aligning your venture with current company strategy, and also it envolves Leading Change.  Of course creativity has to stay within the boundries of corporate strategy, and your risks and rewards are less.

I’ve been putting together an innovative project that me and a few followers will soon pitch to the top.  Biggest hurdles that I see have to do with things like: corporate stagnation, politics, fear, lack of passion, lack of action and comfortism.  Which is pretty common and typical.

So I’ve taken Kotter 8-step approach to the Intrapreneurship case.  I believe I’m currently on a step 0. When this project gets appoved, than my team can move to steps 1+.

Also, I have taken a typical approach, by writing a business plan.  I guess it is kind of a habit.  But with so much unknown, there comes a time where we just gona have to pitch it.  We set the date: Early November.  One thing I’m sure of if this idea launches it will have to be fluid and to reach target growth.
